Umm, without looking at the kinit source again, I seem to recall that
output "Got: len = X data = X" being from the initial parsing of
/proc/cmdline.  If that's null, this problem is unrelated to
kinit/klibc.

Just to be sure, you do have proc support built into the kernel, yes?
